Hello, I’m Emilia, a junior at Mast Academy, and this is my blog for my AS Media Studies class. Here I am going to document my research on the codes and conventions of film making, as well as my experiences producing the first two minutes of a film. I am looking forward to collaborate with my peers to produce a uniquely superlative movie opening. I’ll keep you posted!
This film opening will:
- last a maximum of two minutes
- be undertaken as a group 3 (including me)
- follow the institutional conventions of commercial cinema
- be original
After the film project is produced, I will make a creative critical reflection on the positives and detriments of the production of the film opening and the final product answering the following questions:
- How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues?
- How does your product engage with audiences and how would it be distributed as a real media text?
- How did your production skills develop throughout this project?
- How did you integrate technologies – software, hardware and online – in this project?
